Joyfully Made Pottery & Soaporium opened their brick & mortar doors in early February 2023 here at Coppes Commons, and were the first official shoppe on the second floor of our building! Darlene, the owner, has been working with pottery, goat milk soap, and other products for many, many years and has even been commissioned for ceramic projects for well-known names such as Hallmark and even our very own one-of-a-kind Coppes Commons’ mugs in our Coppes Merchandise shoppe.
Throughout her artist journey, Darlene has always had a craft up her sleeve; owning a photography studio, worship arts, face painting, henna, soap making, pottery, etc. Darlene eventually took pottery classes at Taylor University and fell in love with the craft, honed in on its mastery, and eventually volunteered at a local pottery shop to teach classes. Her soap journey started from a trade at a local farmer’s market for another vendor’s bar of goat milk soap for her face painting abilities; The love of goat milk soap began! This led to continual experimentation of goat milk soap making, creating the perfect recipe after 4 years, and then selling her products on her growing social media. The desire to have a location of her own slowly came to the surface, and her now husband, Randy, encouraged her as they both set out to find the perfect location: Coppes Commons!
In her shoppe, find handmade pottery collections and single pieces, ceramic jewelry, beaded jewelry, handmade goat milk soap, seasonal favorites, and more. Not only do these products speak wonders into Darlene’s ability to create, Darlene also uses her abilities to teach by offering classes for you to learn the arts of pottery. Sign-up for her classes in person, by giving her shop a call, or on her social media when they are offered; Host a pottery party, event, or a date with a pottery class by Joyfully Made! Darlene would love to create a custom class that works best for you and your group, all you have to do is ask! In the future, Joyfully Made will also offer pottery classes with wheel throwing.
